I had had my eye on this air fryer FOREVER and Santa must have known, because it was tucked under my tree on Christmas morning! I love the ability to get crispy, crunchy food without having had to fry it, and love that this one is dishwasher safe. There is a small book with cooking timetables inside the box, to make sure that it doesn’t go to the recycle bin with the box.
You can air fry, reheat, roast, and bake in this air fryer. It cuts my cook time by 2/3 and uses 90% less oil than frying. I love the intermittent beeps that it makes to communicate what’s going on.
Please make sure that you remove all plastic and paper before preheating; there are some hidden cardboards inside, and some plastic tape tabs on the outside. If you miss the cardboard inside (and there are a few pieces), it will smoke!! The grate insert has tabs to show you which way it goes into the air fryer. Please make sure that you do the preliminary cook off to burn the factory oils and chemicals off the air fryer before inserting your food (Washing it would be good, too!).
Did you know that you can cook 2 pounds of French fries at one time?!?! That’s awesome! For thick cut fries, like the ones that I baked, using my air fryer for the first time, I set it for 20 minutes. They cooked BEAUTIFULLY!
You’ll notice several beeps as it’s preheating; once while it’s preheating, once after preheated to let you know that it’s time to add food, once when it’s time to shake or flip food, and lastly, when your food is cooked. Now, if you don’t pull your food out when it beeps, there are few additional reminder beeps in several minute intervals. This is incredibly beneficial, in case you were out of the room when it beeped. It will beep at 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and finally, at 30 minutes after food is finished.
The dimensions for this air fryer is: 13” tall, 11” deep, 11’ wide. please remember that you do need 5” head space across the back to prevent damage to your walls, and to decrease fire risk. Be careful with the vent at the back of the air fryer; it gets very hot, and you can burn yourself!
My taste tester (and son), Benjamin, made an appearance after the fries were cooked, to try them out! I tried to convince him that he wouldn’t like them, but the fact that he can eat his weight in French fries and ketchup dissuaded him from believing me. He thought that they were delicious, and they were!
Clean-up is simple with this air fryer; the basket and tray are dishwasher safe, but you’ll need to wipe out the basket cavity of the air fryer, as well as the electric heating coil inside of the cavity, and you’ll want to do these things after it has cooled off to reduce the risk of burning yourself.
